History

Since 1992, the Macomb Educational Foundation (MEF), a volunteer committee, has supported the children and educators of Macomb Community Unit School District No. 185, by providing additional funding assistance to academic and extracurricular programs.

About MEF

(photo 2) Song leader, composer, and writer Nick Page brought his teachings and talent to the Macomb Community Unit School District in Fall 2009, thanks in part to a Macomb Educational Foundation grant. During his stay, Page worked with students at Lincoln, Edison, Macomb Junior High and Macomb Senior High schools, and also showcased his work with the students at two community sing events.

MEF Mission

The ultimate goal of the foundation is to support efforts which will complement, enhance and enrich educational programs and opportunities for Macomb Community Unit School District No. 185.

FUNDRAISING EFFORTS

The sole fundraiser of the MEF is the annual coupon drive supported by Wal-Mart, Hy-Vee, Niemann's County Market, Farm King, Sears of Macomb and Walgreens. A portion of the proceeds are invested for growth and future use, while the earnings are used to fund semi-annual faculty requests. Coupons can be obtained at any participating merchant or from an MEF Board member. Coupons can be obtained at any participating merchant, from any Macomb school office, or from an MEF Board member.
